The brand new navigation applicaiton of the Finnish manufacturer has many extra functions not just for drivers but for pedestrians, too but the combined satelite view is also a novelty, it was only available in the map services of Google and MSN. The new Nokia Maps 2.0 was equipped with numerous extra functions as multimedia guides, pictures and videos according to the different locations, realtime traffic statistics and the route planning specialized for pedestrians which can plan most of the sights into a route.
The beta version of Nokia Maps 2.0 is available in test version but the final version only comes at the end of spring. At the same time of announcing Nokia reported that the navigation won't be the privilege of smartphones for long, the developing for Series 40 platform is in progress, expectably going to be announced in the second half of the year. It can bring the navigation for the market of lower-priced phones. Not details were reported now, but expectably we are going to get some informations of the cheaper GPS phones of the manufacturer, too.
