Google Voice vs. Apple

Hirdetés

Google has recently reported about the highly popular Google Voice application being available on iPhone soon. The point of the service is that the user gives a central phone number to his or her contacts instead of the home, mobile, office and other numbers, and calling this number all assigned phones can start ringing at the same time, all based on a predefined rule system. The application needed for making configurations to the service (which offers favorable rates and even free calls in many cases) has been rejected by apple from the online App Store software catalog. The reason for the decision could be AT&T, although they can't limit the use of the Google Voice service itself, it's just only annoying. Google didn't yet issue a statement, but they are probably working hard on an online version that can be accessed with the Safari web browser, which, similarly to the recently announced  and also rejected Google Latitude service, would provide a comfortable user interface without the need of installing a separate application.
