Apple has also issued its report of their results for the last quarter of 2008, which has been quite successful financially. The manufacturer has increased its sales (regarding their full product range) from 9.61 to 10.17 billion dollars, while their profit has increased from 1.58 billion to 1.61 billion. It is not known exactly how much of this profit is due to iPhone, but it's sure that while in Q3 2008 6.9 million Apple phones have been sold, this number has decreased in the last quarter, that includes the Christmas season as well, to 4.36 million, in spite of the fact that iPhone 3G is now available in over 70 countries. The result looks much different when compared to the same period from 2007, as we can see an expansion of 88%, but to tell the truth back then iPhone hasn't been available wordlwide. The decrease of sales also means that in the last quarter of 2008 Microsoft's operating system passed Apple's solutions, as in this period 5 million Windows Mobile handset have been sold.
