CeBIT: Meizu, Polizei?

Hirdetés

Yesterday German police have visited CeBIT and closed down Meizu's stand in a couple of minutes. That's the end of facts. The press of course blew things up and some sites published quite weird and wild explanations, that according to the police Meizu stole iPhone's design and because of this the cops confiscated their devices.
Well, this could be believable from a distance of a few thousand kilometers, but we did not believe misleading news and walked up to pavilion nr. 16, where the guys from Meizu were sitting calmly, in the company of M8.
Of course there is no smoke without fire. The stand's close-down wasn't because the M8, but because the company's MP3 players, but after clearing up the misunderstandings the cops didn't want to seize the M8 anymore.

Well, this is the current size of the Meizu M8

By the way, the long awaited device is planned to be marketed in the Far Eastern region in August and a couple of months later in Europe. From all of this we have been given a non-working specimen and there was an almost working one on the table, although the display sitting in the middle of the 15 x 10 cm large printed circuit board didn't support multitouch (although according to a representative of Meizu, the final product will have this feature).
The phone's menu system is very similar to the one on the iPhone, however we know that it's not a shame to learn from the smart, it's just shocking that almost everything look s completely the same.
If the handset will really hit stores this year, than it will still be full of promises, but the more than one year long delay in it's arrival won't do any good to the sale numbers. When asked if they want to release the M8 in a network-independent or a non-independent version, officials from Meizu answered that until they cannot present a working prototype to network operators, they do not have anything to discuss, so they are now trying to compress the immense piece of metal on the desk into something of a size that fits Meizu's case.
