The troubles of Orange and BlackBerry Bold go back until October, when the operator has suspended the distribution of the handset. The reason for the decision has been that the 4.6.0.126 version software hung up too much, phone calls hung up lots of times and the whole handset seemed rather unstable. The 4.6.0.162 firmware, launched by the end of October, seemed to be a solution for the problem, but in practice it didn't turn out to be very effective. According to information from sources close to Orange, BlackBerry Bold is the most returned handset in its category, which is not very fortunate in case of an expensive, high-end model. According to some sources Orange is thinking about cancelling the distribution of the phone, which, as some think, might mean the final cancealltion of the handset. A more fortunate script would be to have Orange and RIM engineers build a new update, based on the post-4.6.0.190 OS. The final cancellation of BlackBerry Bold would mean a serious loss of prestige for RIM. Orange had no official statement on the case yet.
