British CSR's BlueCore series is very popular amongst manufacturers of Bluetooth-capable devices, so the new BlueCore 7 chip is expected to become available in lots of devices. The new chip is based on the latest Bluetooth 2.1+EDR technology, which incorporates Nokia's low power-consumption Wibree data transfer solution, under the name ULP Bluetooth. Besides these BlueCore8 will also have an FM receiver and transmitter inside, which enables radio broadcasts to be shareable via a Bluetooth headset. Another new feature is eGPS, which might come in handy inside buildings and in case of bad GPS signal. CSR BC7 starts shipping in Q4.
