Menu, basic functions
There is nothing new about the basic menu, it’s the simple second generation BlackUI, the two menu views (violet, white) determine the main menu’s layout too. The white background has the usual Samsung menu, the violet colored one is a bit different, it’s somewhat more spectacular but not necessarily more visible.
If we choose the violet one then the cover, when slid downwards, makes the appearing surface to be also colored violet, while if we have the white theme then this place will have an ugly green color that can be compared to an infinite number of disgusting stuff, usually the first thing that pops into our mind is snot (no wonder, it’s physically close to our brain).
I would like to apologize to all our readers for not having English screenshots and we hope that this won't disturb anyone too much.
The phonebook can store 1000 entries; it’s just like in any other Samsung model. It’s pleasant, easy to use, it can store enough information and that’s it. It can list the contents of the SIM card and the internal memory at the same time; it’s fast… so it’s like a contact list. Messaging is also the usual, SMS, MMS (max. 295 KB) and email are all supported, this latter one can have attachments and it can even most of them, as thanks to PicselViewer from Access we can view Office documents and PDF files too.
We won’t be surprised by the office apps either; we have a fine calendar with month and week view that can have meeting, anniversary, holiday, important and private type entries. We can have 100-50-50-20-20 entries (in the order mentioned before), it’s an old Samsung joke that memory is not dynamic from this point of view. It is otherwise, the user has 27 megabytes to store stuff, but this can be expanded with a microSD card. Other things included are a world clock, alarm clock with five alarm times, voice recorder, calculator, converter, stopwatch, countdown timer and RSS reader.
