Synaptics ClearPad recognizes letters written with a finger

Hirdetés

Synaptics has announced its ClearPad solution, which can be used to recognize letters that were drawn with a finger. This new kind of stylus-less handwriting  (now this is handwriting) recognition will first be used in NTT DoCoMo's Sharp SH906i, which is capable of recognizing Japanese characters written with a finger. The touchscreen device's most serious problem is text entry, which is omsetimes really difficult due to the lack of conventional buttons. Sharp SH906i, however, is not good only in recognizing complicated signs, but it can also recognize a number of unique hand signals, which makes application control much easier. ClerPad is the latest member of Synaptics' ClearTouch portfolio, that is available in more then 400 million mobile devices, and it is expected to become in even more devices.
