Qik is a free video-sharing application that allows users to share the frames recorded by the phone's camera as a streaming video, without the recording to be stored in the memory. The software has previously been available only for smartphones, but Ramu Sunkara, co-founder and CEO of the company has recently announced the first Java solution, which provides services on selected Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones, similar to the smartphone edition. Owners of Nokia 5300, Nokia 6300, Nokia 6500 (classic and slide), Nokia 6555, Nokia 8800 Arte/Carbon Arte, Sony Ericsson G502, Sony Ericsson K660i, Sony Ericsson K850i, Sony Ericsson K858c, Sony Ericsson W890i, Sony Ericsson W908c, Sony Ericsson W910i and Sony Ericsson Z750i handsets can download the first version from http://qik.com/. Those having a diferent Nokia or Sony Ericsson model should not worry, as Qik will soon support additional Finnish and Japanese-Swedish phones.
