Ovi Maps 3.0 for Symbian Series 60, which has been finished recently, hasn't been only redesigned, but it has a new pricing as well. A real solid price drop can be seen in for the pedestrian navigation license, where the subscription price for two years is only 8.99 euros, this service being a gift for all phone that come with pre-installed Maps 3.0 in the future.

The software won't allow the user to plan a route longer than 50 kilometers in pedestrian navigation mode, and it automatically deactivates at a speed higher than 30 km/h, reactivation occurs when the speed drops below this limit, which means that we can use this for navigation at most on a bike. The application warns the user to change direction at about 20 meters before the maneuver, the alarm being a sound or vibrating one, depending on the selected profile, and we can hear human voice only when connection is lost with the satellites or the route is being replanned. When using maps installed with Maps Loader there's no need for data transfer, not even for displaying guide info, but when having an online connection we can synchronize favorite places and routes marked by Ovi Maps and local weather and we can see the satellite and geographical map views.
Car navigation and traffic data still cost some more, these being available with daily, 30-day, 30-day renewing and 1-year licenses. The European license costs 1.99 euros for a day, 7.99 euros for 30 days, the automatically renewing 30-day license has a price of 6.49 euros, while the 1-year subscription has a price-tag of 59.99 euros. Traffic reports, which require online data transfer, cost 0.89, 2.99, 2.39 and 17.99 euros for the same periods. Additional information is available at the Nokia Maps website.
