Nokia's concept of future homes

Hirdetés

Nokia has announced that they have started developing their Home Control Center platform, designed for future homes. The new solution will be completely open for other companies as well, and meanwhile the most important expectation will be the high level of safety and Plug&Play functionality. The new system will make the house's energy usage remotely controllable through a computer or a cell phone, so one could turn off some devices remotely, or check the temperature, maybe even take a look at the house with a camera. Later on the Finnish manufacturer will extend the solution to cover security, heating and air changing systems control. In order to complete the project, the Finnish manufacturer has called upon one of Europe's largest energetic companies, so RWE and Nokia are fighting together against CO2 emission. RWE and Nokia are expected to announce a solution procigint modern remote controlling of the home heating system, based on a thermostat, in late 2009. This technology will be usable with current heaters as well. After this the two companies will be working on a solution that will allow constant consumption monitoring, so upkeep costs will be remotely controllable.
