The latest edition of the Finnish manufacturer's PC software package, Nokia PC Suite 7.0, is available. The new version has a series of new features, but it's important to note before the upgrade that this edition doesn't support Windows 2000 any more, and Nokia Multimedia Player has also been taken out of the package, but in turn we get Nokia Video Manager, which has previously been available only as a separate download. Nokia Contacts and Messages applications have been replaced by Nokia Communication Centre, which supports MMS messages too. It is a new feature that from now on we can edit calendar entries on the phone from the software's main screen and we can easily send or forward messages easily at the same place. In case of incoming messages or calls the software automatically alerts the user, but besides this we can also check battery and memory status anytime.
From now on, when making backups, PC Suite saves contents of the memory card (or the secondary memory) and the internal memory to separate files and during the restoration of these there is a possibility for user intervention in case there wouldn't be enough space for backup restoration. Nokia Application Installer now installs apps to the memory card by default, but we can change this setting if we want to. Another new feature is Firefox 3 bookmarks synchronization, which lets us copy bookmarks from the browser to the phone's memory with one click. The new software is available at the Nokia support site.
