Thanks to Nokia's new and extended Web Run-Time solutions there can be highly advanced and interactive internet-based Widget applications made for Series 60 smartphones. With the new solution and platform-independent C++ packages an application can be ready in days or even hours, which, due to data on the phone, can provide personalized solutions. The small Widgets, using web-based solutions, might access data from many Series 60 applications and services. They might access the calendar, the contact list, messaging, the camera, sound functions and even the current coordinates if there's a GPS receiver inside the device. The WeatherBug Widget (pictured) for example provides weather information based on GPS signal, while Flight Tracker collects information from airline companies' sites, it can save data of a chosen flight in the calendar, it can even set an alarm for it and it can continuously collect information about stored flights. So thanks to Nokia Series 60's new solutions there can be made Widgets that are extremely comfortable and that can use personal data and GPS coordinates (if they have appropriate rights) in order to provide services.
