iGO is available on iPhone too

The iPhone version of the iGO navigation software, based on iGO amigo, is officially available, featuring a simpler and more spectacular user interface than iGO8. The software from Nav N Go, having a size of about 1 GB with maps, has three editions, offering voice turn-by-turn navigation in Europe, Western-Europe and North America for 90, 70 and 80 euros.

The highly acclaimed iGO is the second full navigation solution in Apple's App Store, the first has been Navteq's Mobile Navigator. The rivalry in mobile navigation seems to be increasingly serious, as TomTom is also about to launch its own solution, although the SatNav package for 140 euros costs too much even though we get a holder with it, thus converting the phone into a full navigation solution.

Nav N Go Ltd. ported its Amigo navigation software to iPhone; this version has less features than iGO8, but it's easier to use. Unfortunately the software can't handle incoming calls during navigation, as iPhone doesn't yet feature full multitasking. In order to correct this issue, Nav N Go Ltd. has already contacted Apple, but a solution is yet to come. It is already known that an update is coming this year, which will include the possibility to add via targets (Amigo doesn't support it), and we can opt for a QWERTY layout at text entry screens. According to the plans of the software's developers, later on it will be possible to add a contact as a navigation target, thus making fast navigation even easier.

It is also good to know that Nav N Go Ltd. is already developing an Android version of their navigation software, and according to their plans, this could also be launched this year.
