HTC's handsets usually arrive with a huge delay to the United States and this time it's no different. HTC Touch HD, for example, is still being awaited, but the repacked version of the European S740, called S743, has been officially announced. The slim mobile, equipped with a full numeric keypad and a sliding QWERTY keyboard, is based on Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, and it has a 2.4", 240 x 320 pixels large display that is not a touchscreen. The 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3 mm large device, weighing 140 grams, features a 528 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM and Flash memory, a 3.2 megapixel camera with fix focus, WLAN, GPS and stereo Bluetooth, a microSD card slot and a 1000 mAh battery, providng 6.3 hours of talk time. HTC S743, coming Q1 2009, has no official price yet.
