At the Google I/O conference, Andy Rubin has been talking about the future of the Android platform. According to plans they are expecting 8-9 manufacturers to announce a toal of 18 new phones, this including such handsets that don't have pre-installed Google services. The free operating system will be available for licensing in three versions, one being free of Google services, in the second case there is an agreement with the manufacturers for providing access to some services (12-14 of these new phones will fall in this category), while the third edition is the full Google experience, providing unlimited access to all services, which cannot be limited by the manufacturer or the network provider and the phone can have the Google logo on it. According to plans there will be 5-6 such full Google experience phones launched this year, which will not be made by the big manufacturers. Google's expansion for this year has been foreseen, as the free main software can make the production of the phones much cheaper, this being very important in the current financial situation.
