5 megapixel, WVGA display handset from Panasonic

Panasonic came out again with an interesting device with exceptional functions, but of course the offer is for the Japanese market. The 905P created for SoftBank is a clamshell phone with an interesting design, with its upper flip not being only shorter, but it can also be opened on its longer side, which might came in handy when surfing the web and watching videos in the first place. The device's 3 inch, 480x854 pixel WVGA TFT display has become something of a default in Japanese handsets, just like the 5 megapixel autofocus camera. While in Japan Sony Ericsson devices are based on the Sony "BRAVIA" display technology, Panasonic models use the "VIERA" display-enhancement feature. The phone's external display is an OLED monochrome screen, which is capable of displaying only 96x25 pixels. The internal memory can be expanded with microSD and microSDHC cards, the latter having a maximum available size of 16 GB, but the standard makes possible the use of even 32 GB. The 106x49x18 mm sized device is capable of stereo Bluetooth and also functions on SoftBank's 3G network. It is not yet known if Panasonic wants to create a similar model for the European market, although it would surely be successful.
