3G launching in India too

Hirdetés

India is not one of the richest and financially advanced regions of the world, but due to its population above 1 billion makes it an important market for many manufacturers. Nokia, for example, launches a phone series tailored to Indian needs, at a low price, one of these phones being the recently announced Nokia 2330, which comes with many English teaching and other useful applications, but besides that it brings such online features like financial data and weather forecasts. The huge country had no 3G network until now, but this will soon change. The state-owned Mahanagar Tlephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has launched its service on the occasion of India Telecom 2008. MTNL provides two months of free 3G access for premium customers in the capital Delhi's region. According to the network operator's plans it will take only a month to cover the important regions of the country, expect Bombay, which will take about two months. The launch of the Indian 3G service might be another push for the spreading of cheap 3G handsets, as it's almost sure that Nokia will have 3G models in its next cheaper handsets for India, even though these are launched at more markets besides India.
