Sony Ericsson foresees a strong expansion for Q2 and the second half of this year on the market of cell phones. The company's spokesperson has admitted that their company had a weak start for the year 2008, which is primarily due to the market's decline in Western Europe and the too high expectations after the strong 2007 year. This, however, has been a temporary shock in the life of the company, at least this is what James Marshall, the company's global marketing director, has been reporting about for Reuters. The company's forecasts are very optimistic, as they are talking about a 10% market expansion during this year. The bakground of these forecasts is the powerful global market expansion. In April the Japanese-Swedish manufacturer has been reporting about a 47% decrease of the profit, which forced them to pass the fourth place on the cell phone market to LG. The decline has been forecasted by the company, still the quarterly profit fall from 393 mill. euro to 362 mill. euro was shocking.
