According to information from idnes.cz Samsung is about to announce a new Windows Mobile smartphone, under the name Samsung i740. The handset, that can be considered as the successor of i710, has a 2.8", 240 x 320 pixels large display, a 3 megapixel camera, a built-in GPS receiver and an FM radio. The Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system is running on a 624 MHz CPU. The metallic handset is expected to have a moderate price, as it doesn't support 3G, EDGE or WLAN. It is however a strange idea to launch a GPRS-only phone in mid-2008. The 107 x 59 x 13.8 mm large, Bluetooth 2.0-capable handset's launch date is not known yet.
