Nokia pays 2.3 billion dollars

Hirdetés

The long patent war between Qualcomm and Nokia has finished with a 15-year long cooperation contract, but due to the illegal use of previously patented solution the Finnish manufacturer now has to pay 2.3 billion dollars. Previous reports have uncovered some details of the 15-year license agreement, so Nokia will use Qualcomm solutions in its products according to the agreement. It is not yet known how and when will the payment be done, but it will surely have some serious effect on next quarter's financial results as well. The sum, however, will be great for Qualcomm, as they have recently lost a battle against Broadcom in a similar patent case, after which they will soon have to pay a huge compensation.
