Many consider by mistake Nokia N85 as a repacked version of N95 or N95 8GB. Although both sliders have very similar features, but there is a great amount of difference on the inside. The Finnish manufacturer has been building its smartphones on Texas Instruments OMAP platform for a long time and then Freescale's and STMicrolectronics' Nomadik solution has also been used, which will be first used in Nokia N96. Nokia N85 is based on the same chip, the independetly working 24 bit DSP sound processor provides not only an exceptional sound quality, but also a low power consumption and thus the handset can play back music for up to 30 hours, thanks to the 1200 mAh battery. Another important new feature is the AM-OLED display, which is perfectly visible from all angles and it even has a much lower power consumption and higher brightness, these being confirmed by press sources. The first reports have described N85's shiny black case as not being a fingerprint-magnet and it seemed quite stable mechanically. Nokia N85, based on Series 60 3.2, will probably have a price of €450 EUR.
