After the recent cheaper handsets, Nokia has announced a more expensive one, the smallest of their phones with a 5 megapixel camera, which has nearly the same size as its predecessor that had a 3 megapixel camera, this was the ultracompact Nokia 6600 Slide. The newcomer, just like the other recent ones, has a completely hidden display when turned off, and it comes alive on two hits, thanks to the gyroscope. On the front of the burshed steel phone there is a 2.2", 240 x 320 pixels large display and a secondary camera for 3G video calls, while on the back there is the 5 megapixel module with autofocus, video recording capability at 640 x 480 pixels and a dual LED flash. The handset is not the best one in data transfer, as it only supports 384 kilobit download and 128 kliobit upload speeds on 3G (WCDMA) and EDGE/GPRS, but besides these it also has an RDS FM radio, a Bluetooth 2.0 module, 20 MB of internal memory, a microSDHC card slot, a microUSB connector, Flash Lite 3.0 and Java MIDP 2.0 support, it can be used for navigation with an external GPS module thanks to the preinstalled Nokia Maps application, while its battery has a capacity of 1,000 mAh, providing 4 hours of talk time. The base package includes a 1 GB memory card, stereo headset and a USB cable. The 93 x 45 x 14.2 mm large Nokia 6600i Slide is expected by Q3 in black and silver at a net price of 200 euros.
