NFC (Near Field Communication), used for contactless payment solutions, is currently available in quite few phones and it is very limited. In Japan and England there were attempts to promote this solution, thus making bank card payments easier, with a simple touch, and it could even be used as an intelligent season ticket o6n mass transit or at any other place. Nokia 6216 Classic, announced in Monaco, is the first handset from the manufacturer that can be used for SIM-based NFC services. NFC is also used for sharing web links, images and calendar entries with passive NFC-tags. The handset, featuring three NFC-tags, features a 2", 240 x 320 pixels large display, a 2 megapixel camera, 22 MB of internal memory, a microSD slot and 3G support. Nokia 6216, set to launch in Q3, is 114.7 x 41.7 x 14.5 mm large and has an expected net price of 150 euros.
