In the case of industrial phones the most important feature is to be as resistant as possible, the design or the compact size don't really matter. All members of the Motorola MC55 EDA (Enterprise Digital Assistants) series are heavy-duty handsets, which is assured by the IP54 certification. The handset features EDGE and WLAN support, it's based on Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 and sports a 3.5", 480 x 640 pixels large touchscreen display and a 2 megapixel autofocus camera. The first two members of the series, MC5590 and MC5574 are made for different kinds of users: while the first could be a good choice for medical workers, the second can come in handy when working outside. The price of the handsets, coming in Q3, is not yet known.
