Motorola EM30: ROKR E8 repacked

Motorola is soon to announce a cheaper edition of its ROKR E8 phone.

The phone called Motorola EM30 has appeared on American FCC's site. The phone is clearly based on ROKR E8, but instead of the touch-sensitive scrolling surface it has a conventional navigation ring. Interestingly the newcomer didn't appear on Motorola's lineup of models for this year, so it's not impossible that they will be launching a number of other handsets too. The device, supporting GPRS and EDGE networks, is based on Linux Montavista 2.6.10, has a 2"320 x 240 pixels large display, a 2 megapixel fixed focus camera, an advanced music player, a stereo FM radio, stereo Bluetooth support, microSD slot, microUSB connector and a standard 3.5 mm headset connector. Other interesting aspects of the phone are AGPS support, a full HTML browser, and support for PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files.
