After tons of rumors the latest QWERTY handset from RIM has finally been officially announced, although it's now called Curve 8520 instead of the original codename, "Gemini". The specialty of the new device is that instead of the traditional trackball it has an optical touch-panel, which, thanks to the lack of mechanics, provides a much more reliable functionality and now much slimmer models can be made. Another interesting feature of the phone, featuring a 320 x 240 pixels resolution display, a full keyboard, a 2 megapixel camera and a 1 GB microSD card in the package, is that it has full Mac compatibility out-of-the-box. BlackBerry Curve 8520 is available from T-Mobile USA since yesterday.
