Google has officially announced the winners of the first Android Developer Challenge, twenty coders won quite large prizes. Ten out of the fifty applications that got into the finals won $275.000 USD, and another ten were awarded with $100.000 USD. Previously the first fifty have already received a sum of $25.000 USD which is also a considerable amount of money. Of course most of the applications from the finals were location-based services, for example changing settings based on the current location. The detailed list of the applitcations is available at this site. It looks like Google's contest inspires developers a lot, so a continuation is also possible.
