The desire for larger and larger displays seems to have an effect on the fantasies of Apple's engineers too. According to some rumors Apple has already designed an internal project of a prototype media player with a 7" or 9" touchscreen display, that might go into production this autumn. According to the information from Asian OEM partners the American partner has already started negotiations about the mass production of the product, so it might be possible that the new device with a huge touchscreen will be launched this year. Currently Apple iPod Touch is available with a 3.5" display, its price ranging from 229 to 399 dollars, depending on the memory size, which can be 8, 16 or 32 GB.
