It’s all very well having Armani written on your phone (preferably if it came that way from the factory, rather than you scrawling it on yourself with a sharpie) but knowing that anyone with the cash or, in the UK at least, the willingness to sign a new contract, could appear with the same phone rubs some of the glamour off. What won’t rub off, though, is Goldstriker’s gold and platinum plating, turning Samsung’s Armani, say, into an exclusive, glittering slab of ostentation. The company has just unveiled their Spring 2008 collection, with the Armani phone joined by Nokia’s 7900 Prism and 8800 Arte. Prices are, as you’d expect, not on the cheap side: £899.95 ($1,815) for the gold 8800 or £1,049.95 ($2,118) for the platinum version; £529.95 ($1,069) for the gold Luna; and £599.95 ($1,210) for the gold Armani or £699.95 ($1,412) for the platinum version. They’re all limited-edition, so you don’t have much time to save up…
