Now, most people are aware that Megapixels are not the only factor in creating a good cameraphone, but, you have to admit that 12 Megapixels in a handset is an impressive technological feat, no less. The promised features of the Ericsson U500 platform are set to include:
- High quality camcorder
- 12 Megapixel camera
- 800 x 480 (WVGA) display support
- Advanced 3D gaming, and 3D User Interface
- CD-quality audio performance
- High resolution video, allowing for a true mobile experience
Obviously, these features need power, and that they have, thanks to three ARM 11 CPUs, and hardware accelerators, an ARM Mali200 GPU, as well as digital baseband, all of which is promised in a small and energy efficient package. The U500 platform is slated to be available within the first six months in 2009.
